The Johnson’s saw a need for an endowment care cemetery in Amador County so in 1988 they purchased the acreage where the cemetery now is located. Plans were formulated with every detail examined and the work began. Matthew Johnson, their oldest son over saw the initial development. The fall of 1989 the grounds were completed enough to have burials. Every year since then improvements and areas developed have been ongoing.
The newest area which will begin development in 2007, will be called Garden of Trees. The graves in this garden will accommodate upright monuments. Similar to the other areas in the Cemetery, Urn Graves, Niches and Memorial Benches will also be available.
